Units are a single vehicle air unit, or squad of soldiers. In the combat mode either attacking or defending it gets a little better. The game has essentially 2 main components to gameplay, the main screen where you decide to attack, defend, or buy units, that's essentially half the gameplay right there. Hopefully somebody will get wise and put out a patch to improve the AI. I wish the PC version had it, just declare victory at a suitable point.

Tactically, it just tends to go after the lowest defense unit within range, which is so-so. The game's unquestionable worst point is the totally lame AI. Roads would not show at any level of resolution, forcing me to move the mouse over each hex to see where a road might be. The quality is generally good, but I had various bugs from video card problems. The game does high res 3D graphics, which is both good and bad. The game is played on an extremely detailed map of the US, the details of even my home town are pretty close.
